There are seasons in every life when the night feels longer than we imagined. Grief settles into our hearts. Prayers seem to linger unanswered. We wonder if the darkness will ever lift or if joy will ever feel possible again.

Yet even in the deepest night, God is quietly preparing the dawn.

As I looked across the still water, one brilliant white lily stood above the darkness surrounding it. It had not escaped the muddy depths below. It had grown through them. What could have hidden its beauty became the very place where it was formed.

Isn't that often how God works in our lives? He rarely removes every difficult circumstance the moment we ask. Instead, He patiently grows something beautiful in us while we wait. Faith deepens. Hope becomes steadier. Compassion grows richer. Our dependence on Him becomes stronger than it was before the night began.

The promise of Psalm 30 is not that we will never weep. It is that weeping never has the final word. Morning always comes because God is faithful. The darkness eventually gives way to light. The tears eventually give way to hope. The waiting eventually gives way to His perfect timing. This lily is a quiet reminder that even when we cannot yet see the sunrise, God is already bringing it over the horizon.

Hold on. The morning is coming.
