Some of the most beautiful things God creates take time. A hydrangea doesn't bloom overnight. Tiny blossoms slowly emerge until hundreds of delicate flowers come together to form one breathtaking display. No single bloom tells the whole story. Together, they reveal the beauty of patient growth.

Standing before this flower, I was reminded how often I want God to reveal the finished picture before I've trusted Him with the first step. Psalm 37 offers a different invitation.

"Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act."

Notice the order. First, we commit. Then, we trust. Finally, God acts. We often reverse that sequence. We want to see God move before we surrender our plans. We ask Him to prove Himself before we place our confidence in Him. But faith has always been an act of entrustment.

To commit our way to the Lord is to place every dream, disappointment, relationship, decision, and unanswered question into His hands. It is choosing His wisdom over our understanding and His timing over our impatience. Like each tiny blossom that contributes to the beauty of the whole, God is working through countless details we cannot yet see. Every prayer, every delay, every unexpected turn may be part of something far more beautiful than we could design ourselves.

This hydrangea reminds me that God's faithfulness is often revealed one small step at a time. Our responsibility is not to control the outcome. It is to trust the Gardener. The One who faithfully brings flowers into bloom is more than able to bring His purposes to life in us.
